UP Weather Alert: Rain, Fog, and Severe Cold Wave Predicted by IMD

UP weather alert: According to the latest reports received from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this week will bring lots of weather conditions to Uttar Pradesh. Rain, dense fog, and temperature drops will be experienced in various parts of the state from December 23 to December 28.

Rain and Fog in Some of the Districts of UP

On December 23 and 23, there are possibilities of light rains in some places in Western UP, while Eastern UP would be rain deficient. However, it would be covered by dense fog in both parts late night/early morning.

Cloudy skies might induce light to moderate rain in both Western and Eastern UP, especially from December 26 to 28. According to IMD, the period would see a drop in maximum temperatures, while a slight rise in the minimum at night.

Cities on Alert for Rain and Fog – UP Weather Alert

The following districts are on alert for dense fog, rain, or cloudy skies:

  • Dense Fog Alert: Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Bareilly, Sitapur, and others.
  • Rain Alert: Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Kanpur, Jhansi, and Noida are likely to see light rain during the week.

In Noida and Ghaziabad, it will mostly be cloudy with showers, and the maximum and the minimum temperatures will be around 17°C and 9°C, respectively. Heavy fog in the mornings and evening clouds may make Lucknow a little hazy, but will have clear skies during the day.

Severe Cold Wave Expected Next Week – UP Weather Alert

According to an IMD forewarning, Uttar Pradesh will undergo severe cold wave conditions from January 1, thus indicating a probability of constituting further drops in the temperature. Additionally, there would also be some dense fog and cold wind which could develop more glaring conditions in rural areas.

UP Weather Highlights:

  • December 23–24: Light rain in Western UP, foggy mornings in Eastern UP.
  • December 26–28: Moderate rain likely in many parts of the state.
  • January 1 Onward: Cold wave and significant temperature drop predicted.

Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather reports and take precautions, especially during early mornings and late nights when fog and cold are most intense.
